There’s a new trailer for the second G.I. Joe movie: Retaliation.
The first movie was quite fun, and the second looks to be just that as well. Unfortunately Scarlett and the Baroness aren’t in it.

I might be the only person on the planet, but I never saw the movie Titanic. And I’m not really interested in seeing it. Until this trailer showed up:

Lego will release a huge (for Lego at least) R2-D2. This fella is about 12″ tall, has a retractable leg and gadgets, and a rotating dome. The 2000+ brick set will set you back for about 175 euros, though, and is set to be released in May 2012.

If there’s one movie I’m looking forward to this summer, it’s Prometheus.
Ridley Scott is back for the semi-prequel to Alien, and so far it looks goddamn fantastic.

And there’s a new trailer:

Oh, and check out this excellent teaser they released a few weeks back:

On Wednesday, the longawaited Stormtrooper premium format from Sideshow Collectibles arrived.
I had this one on pre-order for some time now, and late last year they finally started shipping to the people who ordered directly from Sidshow. I had ordered it from Galaxyshop here in the Netherlands, so I knew I was getting it a bit later. But that didn’t matter.

However, what did concern me, was the report of various broken statues. Apparently, Sideshow has taken down the packaging a notch (or two). The styrofoam isn’t as good as before, the base wasn’t packed inside the foam, but underneath the box, etc. This caused quite an uproar among collectors.

When it arrived, I was glad that they changed the packaging at least a bit. The base was in the styrofoam, so it was better protected. At first glance, everything seemed ok. Until I took this badboy out.
His right leg almost fell off at the knee, and his left leg was wobbly too. when I took it out, it turned out the armor on his right leg was broken. No way would this be fixable with some glue. You will always see the crack.

That same evening, I sent a mail to the shop where I had ordered it. The next day, they replied and sent me a replacement Trooper. This one arrived today, and is in better shape.

I’ve had this image for quite a while now, but finally someone is printing it on a t-shirt.

The Trooper!

Only today they sell it at Shirtoid:

the second trailer for this summer’s Avengers movie is out!

Oh, in the UK the movie will actually be called Avengers Assemble, instead of The Avengers. Probably to avoid confusion with the British tv-show from several ages ago.

This weekend I stumbled upon a statue that has been on my want-list for a long time: General Grievous, as made by Sideshow Collectibles.

I wasn’t planning on buying a statue (I had even cancelled a purchase for a Spidey comiquette…), but this one I just had to have. This guy is Huge, with a capital H. Not only is he taller than most premium formats, but because of the lightsabers, the width and length of this statue are also a lot bigger than usual. So unfortunately I can’t really display him in my neat little Bespa behind glass.

Here are some photos of the General:

I have Faith.
Not in any deity or government.

I have Faith, the latest statue in Sideshow’s Buffy The Vampire Slayer line.
And I have the ultra (and I mean ULTRA) rare exclusive WET edition!

Basically, it’s the Sideshow Exclusive version of the statue, which has an additional switch-out hand holding a badass knife. The regular version only has a crossbow, but the knife really completes Faith. My special WET version has water, in the base. Of course the water isn’t supposed to be there, but when I took the base out of the packaging, I noticed that the plastic bag was wet on the inside. So I took the base out of the bag, and noticed that the weight was shifting from side to side when I tilted it. Then I even heard some water inside it. I held it upside down, and then a few drops came out of the peghole in the base. No, that wasn’t supposed to happen.

It’s not really a big deal, but it’s just a bit annoying to get the water out of there. I’m not sure if it will do some damage to the inside of the base if it remains there, so I prefer to have it dry in there.

Here are some pics, and read on for a video showing the water.

Another trailer for an upcoming superhero movie: The Amazing Spider-Man

Too bad they’re already sortof rebooting the Spidey movies, but tbh, Spider-Man 3 wasn’t very good anyway.
